Proven on our own firms first.

Before offering this to anyone, we did it for two construction businesses we run ourselves. Every figure on this page comes from their Google Search Console accounts, with the date and the window it was measured over, and we have included what has not moved yet as well as what has.

Figures last checked 13 October 2026. Updated monthly.
Renovation contractor · Dubai

Benstead Construction

New websiteArea pagesGuidesGoogle Business Profile

A villa and apartment renovation contractor competing against companies with websites twenty years old and thousands of pages.

Where it started

In the seven days before the rebuild, Google showed the old seven-page site 18 times and one person clicked. Average position was 63. Only two pages were in Google's index at all. The site ranked for the company name and nothing else, which is where most trade websites sit.

What we did

  • Rebuilt the site from 7 pages to 107, with a dedicated page for every community and service they cover, then grew it to 132
  • Wrote in-depth guides on permits and approvals, the questions their customers actually ask before they hire anyone
  • Coded every page so Google understands the business, its services and where it works, and fixed the business address Google could not place
  • Deepened the pages that were closest to page one, from around 950 words to 1,500 to 2,000, instead of just adding more pages
  • Set up the Google Business Profile properly: categories, description, services, photos, and reviews from one to seven

What happened, week by week

WhenWhat we saw in Search Console
18 Aug 2026New site live. Sitemap submitted; Google went from 7 known pages to 107 the same day.
Week 173 of 107 pages indexed. 726 impressions in the week, from 18. 154 different searches showing the site, from 3. First page-one ranking, at number 8.
Week 2Three community pages on page one, two of them at number 2. 1,500 impressions in the week.
Early SepPlateau. Position flat at 55 for two weeks with no links from other sites. We stopped adding pages and deepened the best ones instead.
18 SepPosition 41.3. The permit guides ranked top 20, several top 10, for the questions customers ask before hiring.
25 to 28 SepThree new pages reached Google's top 10 within four days of going live (positions 7.3, 7.9 and 8.9). Best week of the campaign: average position 21.7, with the main community page at 3.6.
28 days to 10 Oct44 clicks, 3,290 impressions, average position 27.9, 316 different searches. 104 pages indexed.

What has not moved yet

The big generic search, "villa renovation dubai", is still around position 60. That is expected: the site has no links from other websites, and generic terms are won by links and reviews, not by pages alone. The guide and community pages, which match what a specific customer is actually typing, moved first and fastest. That is the lesson we apply to every trade site: win the town and service searches first, because they are the ones that turn into phone calls anyway.

The dip after 28 September is normal: as a site starts appearing for more searches, the new ones arrive at low positions and pull the average down before they climb. The 28-day average, 27.9, is the steadier read.

Scaffolding contractor · Oxfordshire

Ox Scaffold

Existing site upgradedTown pagesAI searchBing

An established scaffolding firm with 49 five-star Google reviews and a website Google was showing in Gloucester, Wolverhampton and south London, while it sat on page two and three for its own county.

Where it started

Three months to 29 August 2026: 24,700 impressions, 52 clicks, a click-through rate of 0.2% and an average position of 32.6. Most of those impressions came from towns the firm does not serve, driven by a thin regional page and a national temporary-roof page. Thirteen pages were not indexed, including county pages Google had found in the sitemap and declined to crawl because nothing linked to them. A widget was injecting broken code into every page. The testimonials page in the main menu was blank.

What we did

  • Fixed the Google Business Profile first: the wrong phone number, no services listed, a description that read as if they did roofing
  • Rewrote the county pages for the areas they actually work in, each with its own local detail, and linked every area page from the footer so Google could find them
  • Coded the business details for Google and AI assistants, removed the broken widget code, and gave the homepage its first proper heading and 2,000 words instead of 880
  • Built 25 town pages, each 1,600 to 1,900 words with the local council's pavement-licence fees and what drives the price in that town, and added question-and-answer markup to 14 pages
  • Found that 21 of 34 pages had no description under their Google listing, which is why almost nobody clicked, and wrote one for every page

What happened

WhenWhat we saw
1 Sep 2026Search Console connected for the first time. Business Profile phone, services and description fixed the same day.
21 to 22 SepCounty pages rewritten, footer links added, business details coded for Google and AI, broken widget removed.
28 SepA homeowner in Beaconsfield rang for a quote. ChatGPT had recommended Ox Scaffold for "scaffolding in Buckinghamshire". The site had zero Google impressions for Beaconsfield in the previous 28 days: the job came through AI search alone, six days after the business details went live.
1 to 8 Oct25 town pages built and deepened. Oxfordshire searches on page one went from 13 to 16 of the 25 tracked, with 15 of the 25 improving.
12 OctOn Bing, which is what ChatGPT and Copilot read, the new town pages sat at number 1 for Kidlington, Carterton, Chinnor and Wheatley.
28 days to 10 OctAverage position 25.9, from 32.6, and 24.8 in the most recent week. Impressions are running slightly below the old baseline because the out-of-area pages were removed on purpose; the clicks that remain come from the right towns.

What has not moved yet

The national searches, "temporary roof scaffolding" and "roof scaffolding hire", are still at 28 to 47. They are fought over by national hire companies and they need links and a dedicated page, which is the next job. And a few town searches dipped while Google re-sorted which page it shows for which town; we are fixing that with the links between pages rather than with more words.

AI

A homeowner in Beaconsfield asked ChatGPT for a scaffolder in Buckinghamshire, and it named Ox Scaffold. They had no Google visibility in that town at all. Customers are finding trades through AI assistants, and the right setup gets you recommended.

What the two cases taught us

Four things that held on both sites

Thin pages do nothing. On Benstead, six district pages at around 950 words earned four impressions in a month between them, while the community pages at around 1,900 words earned 1,366. We deepened everything and have never shipped a thin page since.

Specific beats generic. A page that answers one exact question (a named council's licence, a named developer's approval) reached the top 10 in days. The generic "best roofer" type searches take months and need links.

Google has to be able to find the page. Ox Scaffold's county pages sat unindexed for a year because nothing linked to them. One footer change fixed it.

AI search is real and it reads the same things. Open crawling, business details coded on the page, a consistent name, address and phone everywhere. That is what got Ox Scaffold recommended by ChatGPT, and it costs nothing extra to do for every site.

Questions

About these results

Are these results from real clients?

They are from two construction businesses we run ourselves, Benstead Construction in Dubai and Ox Scaffold in Oxfordshire. We did the work on our own firms first, before offering it to anyone else. Every figure comes from Google Search Console and we state the date and window for each.

How long did these results take?

Benstead's site went live on 18 August 2026 and reached its best week by 28 September, six weeks later. Ox Scaffold's first changes landed on 21 and 22 September 2026 and the ChatGPT lead arrived on 28 September. Both are still improving month on month.

What has not worked yet?

The big generic searches. Benstead still sits around position 60 for "villa renovation dubai" because the site has no links from other websites yet, and Ox Scaffold's national temporary-roof searches are still at 40 to 50. On-page work alone moves town, service and question searches quickly; the generic head terms need links and reviews, which take longer.

Will my results look like this?

Not exactly, because every town and trade is different, and nobody honest can promise positions. What you will get is the same method, the same checks and a monthly report in your own Search Console so you can see for yourself.

Why this matters to you

The same method, applied to your business.

Neither of these firms had a marketing budget. What they had was a website that finally told Google, and AI assistants, exactly what they do and where. That is what we build for you, a step at a time, for £200 + VAT a month with no contract.
